In 2011 we bought a small plot of Syrah and picked the grapes for our first vintage on 16 September 2011. We made 153 bottles of Rosé and 373 bottles of Red and are delighted with our small but perfectly formed range of wines! The following year we purchased a small parcel of old Carignan vines.
We have called our wines Domaine Lou Cayla (pronounced 'Kyla'), after the ancient hill which lies between our house and the vineyard. Lou Cayla is an important archaeological site and bears traces of a hilltop settlement dating back to 900 B. C.
