Juliet Bruce Jones is originally from Perthshire in Scotland and she went to Edinburgh University, graduating in Business Studies in 1988. Her first 'real' job was in London as a tax accountant but she quickly saw the light and switched to the wine trade. She worked for the International Wine Challenge and then Oddbins, where she took her Wine and Spirit Education Trust exams. She lived in the USA from 1992 - 1995 where she founded a wine school and also did a brief stint as a cellar rat in Napa for the 1995 crush.
On returning to London she started work at The Wine Society where she remained for 8 years, initially as tastings co-ordinator before moving to become a buyer. She became a Master of Wine in 1998.
She moved to the Languedoc in 2004 where she lives in a small village in the Minervois with her husband Simon and daughter Mathilda.
